  • To request an agenda item in advance, email City Secretary.
  • Note that lead time is required to place items on an agenda.  This varies by month, but generally requests are required one – two weeks in advance of meetings.
  • email City Secretary:  enchantedoaks@enchantedoaks.org.

Information on Texas Open Meetings Act is available through Texas Attorney General.

Steps to Change an Ordinance

  • Place the topic on a council meeting agenda for open discussion.
  • Present your case, other interested citizens comment, council discusses.
  • If council arrives at a consensus to proceed with changes, the city attorney would then amend the appropriate ordinance(s).
  • Amended Ordinance(s) would then be submitted for a formal council vote at a future council meeting.

Elections, Budget, Tax Rate

  • Town contracts with Henderson County for Elections, Appraisals, and Tax Collections.
  • Council approves Town budget yearly and amends as needed.
  • Tax rates are established yearly.
  • Both Budget & Tax Rates are finalized (by vote) in August, as required by Henderson County.
  • All processes follow Texas law for small taxing units.
  • Town subscribes to Texas Municipal League to provide guidance on yearly requirements changes.
